The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), as the Secretariat of the 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production (10YFP), has pre-launched the online Global SCP Clearinghouse, a unique one-stop hub dedicated to advancing Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) worldwide. European Commission publishes results from stakeholder consultation on Sustainable Consumption and Production
European stakeholders want to see a higher level of synergy and complementarity between EU sustainable consumption and production (SCP) regulatory instruments according to the results of a survey published by DG Environment. Stronger harmonisation and alignment among existing instruments, rather than the introduction of a new legal framework for sustainable products, are among the key findings of the ‘Consultation on Delivering more Sustainable Consumption and Production’.
Successful initiatives to promote sustainable consumption and production (SCP) are flourishing around the globe, but further efforts are needed to embed such practices in existing policy frameworks, according to the new Global Outlook Report published by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in collaboration with the European Commission.
The European Commission gathers views on delivering more sustainable consumption and production in the context of resource efficiency. It is asking for contributions on the possible introduction of new EU wide measures related to Sustainable Consumption and Production.
The deadline for abstracts on the European Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Production is now published: 30th of November 2011!
